Jelly Roll - Anyone?

Bear Paw Quilting was having its annual or semi-annual sale and had these jelly rolls half off. The diameter is about 5 inches across. Don't know what I will do with it yet, but the colors are nice and there are tons of patterns using jelly rolls.

Using a roll hemmer foot

I bought this skirt from - yes, you guessed it - a thrift store. I love the colors and the paisley. I chopped about 6 inches off it, so it wouldn't be dragging on the floor and so it would be more in style. I remembered perusing a blog the other day and found this posting. I can't seem to click on the exact posting, but if you scroll down a little you will see it. Anyway, she is using this hemming foot to make a rolled hem. I thought, hmm, I think I have one of those and have never used it. I tried it and it works!! It really works!!

Next Up - A Skirt

Next up is this skirt, using this lovely silky polyester. It's kind of a retro pattern, but I really like the colors. May use this skirt pattern, but I have several others, as well.

Blouse Finished

I finished this blouse recently and really love it. It is a silky type polyester. I will say first that I am taking to heart what someone said recently on their blog - can't remember where I saw it - that you need to LOVE your fabric before you start, otherwise, chances are you won't finish it. This fabric was nice, but doesnt drape all that well. Additionally, it doesn't press, springing back the minute you press it. Otherwise, I followed the pattern exactly, and it fit fine. I like the blouse and think I will wear it a lot.

Quick and Easy Project

Here's a quick project I hope to do using my Swiffer, for which I have found the boughten stick-ems pads inadequate. This bath mat should make two pads with elastic to go around the mop. "After" pictures soon, I hope.

I saw this posting on Pins and Needles blog and dug out a pattern that I had in my stash. It's pretty cool looking and would be fun to make.

Here's my Car Trash Bag....

I finally decided to make the trash bag yesterday. I used some fabric I had bought in Hawaii - I laminated the inside. It's made into a triangle-shape, custom fit to go on the front passenger side squeezed right by the middle console. It's held on with adhestive velcro.
